DEVICE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
In addition to the Client Information, when you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
The purpose of the Site is to provide a platform to share Client Information among the parents, guardians, educators and medical professionals interacting with Clients, and is used only for that purpose. De-Identified Data may be used for the following purposes: (1) assisting educational institutions, other governmental agencies or research institutions in conducting research and other studies; and (2) research and development of educational sites, services, or applications, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the platform; (3) for adaptive learning purposes and for customized student learning. Records and information are considered to be de-identified when all personally identifiable information has been removed or obscured, such that the remaining information does not reasonably identify a specific individual.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our users browse and interact with the Site). We do not collect Client or Device Information for advertising purposes or share it with third parties when you visit the Site. Please refer to our End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) and Terms of Services for additional information if you are a user of the Emergent Learning Digital platform.
We may share your Subscriber and Device Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
WEB SITE LINKS
On the Site, you may find links to related web sites not managed by your us. These web site link(s) are for informational purposes only. We do not endorse and have not verified the accuracy of the information on these web sites.
SUBSCRIBER ACCESS
A parent of a minor Client or the legal guardian of an adult Client may set up an account and access the Client Information by completing the appropriate proxy access Consent Form and submitting it as per the instructions on the form. Such access will only be granted to parties with parental rights or legal guardianship over the Client (a “Subscriber”) and only to the extent that the party requesting access can demonstrate the legal right to the Client's medical information. If the Subscriber's legal relationship with the Client changes, the Subscriber must inform us immediately by sending written notice to techsupport@emergentlearningacademy.com . We reserve the right to revoke access at any time for any reason.
E-MAIL PRIVACY
As a user of the Site you should be aware that you might be notified via e-mail when there is new Client Information to be viewed on the Site. This means that any person with access to your e-mail will be able to see this notification. This could include your family members, employer or anyone else who can access your e-mail account. Although no private medical information will be sent, the notification that new medical information is available by accessing the Site may be information that you would not want others to know. Thus, you should take this into account when providing an e-mail address or using the Site. A Client’s confidential medical information on the Site will be accessible only to appropriate staff.
YOUR RIGHTS
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
CHANGES
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
